The Recipe:

Responsibilities for the Pastry Commis Chef:

  • Support the senior Chefs in the running of the Pastry section
  • Ensure all Mise-en-Place is completed for service
  • Assist the team with creating exciting dishes                           

The Melting Pot:

Our client is a four star country house Hotel originating from the 16th Century specialising in fresh food and culinary excellence. After recent refurbishments, the property has now been restored to its former glory. Just over a year ago, they appointed a new Head Chef, who has experience up to Michelin star with some top names within the Industry. Since his appointment, the kitchen team has gone from strength to strength and so has the food.

This Boutique Hotel has 20 bedrooms, caters for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as afternoon teas and functions whilst having a team of 12 Chefs, many of which are promoted from within. With various dining facilities to cater for all including the fine dining restaurant flooded with atmosphere and style. With a la carte and tasting menus, the food on show is beautiful and provides the chance for a passionate Chef to love the food they are taking from pan to plate. 

Their kitchen garden is quite a sight. Set amongst one acre of land, the team utilise the garden for 90% of what is used in the kitchen so opportunities of foraging are plentiful not to forget the chance to learn about what goes beyond what is on the plate itself.

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual who is passionate about entering a Rosette winning kitchen that makes everything from scratch as a Pastry Commis Chef and develop into an all-rounded Pastry Chef.

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Passion to become a great Pastry Chef whilst using fresh produce
  • Previous experience in fresh food led establishments
