Orcinus Young Chef Competition 2017 Winner Henri Motte
What a show down we had for the Orcinus Young Chef 2017 Final! For the 3rd year running students of years 9 & 10 from schools across Hampshire showcased their spectacular cooking abilities and creativity under the watchful eye of the judges.
The students were challenged with creating their own Showstopper of a dish and cooked it in 90 minutes, under pressure and in the heat of the kitchen. Again, this year, pushing themselves and they didn’t disappoint. All the competitors made it an incredibly hard competition to judge, with their attention to detail and plating up. All considered every sense from the textures to how it tasted to the eye, delivering astonishing dishes, however, it was Henri Motte, from Kings’ School, Winchester with his scallops on squid ink pasta, salmon mousse, shrimps and raspberry sauce that stole the show.
All students showed some serious competitive streaks and cooking skills – well done to all!
