Hampshire Collegiate School Unveil Food Technology Facility
On Saturday 13 June 2015, Orcinus Recruit joined in on the celebrations of Hampshire Collegiate School in Romsey unveiling their brand new Food Technology room, and it's amazing!
Designed with the demands of the school at heart, the department will rival many local schools due to the standard that this project has been completed to.
To mark the occasion, HCS hosted a Food Festival and didn't they cook up a storm! Joining Orcinus in this fantastic day to get people excited about food were Hotel Terravina, Riverford Organics and Jurassic Meats among others.
On the Orcinus stand, we staged a competition of Guess the Chefs which included 3 individual parts of 3 Chefs and it was those who attended the event's challenge to guess who! The interest in this was great and we had several entries by the end of the day.
In the Food Technology room though, the real fun was happening. Filled with demos and Q&A's, Chef Lee interacted with guests, young and adult through making varying styles of bread using seasoning that was kindly donated by Bart! In addition to Lee's demo, Gavin Barnes from Hotel Terravina and Penny Ericson, a well-known Chef made a Sea Bass dish, showed how to make Mayonnaise as well as offering a few little tips along the way.
Throughout the day, Sarah was interacting with guests at our stand, talking to interested parents and passionate students as well as offering support and guidance during the demos and Q&A's.
Also present were Riverford Organic Farms who showcased the produce they offer which is all grown organically whilst Jurassic Coast Meats boasted some terrific cuts of meat and some were even used in the demos by Gavin Barnes of Hotel Terravina. Our day at HCS was a huge success and we can't wait for next year's festival which I am sure will be even bigger and better!
